One of the strengths of the Four Blocks Literacy model is that it supports teachers in addressing the needs of a diverse student body. One of the challenges in implementing Four Blocks in the intermediate grades is the need to cover content areas standards as well as address the literacy skills of students. In these sessions, learners examine ways to integrate science and social studies content with language arts standards for an efficient use of classroom time. Discussion of management techniques, daily scheduling, and lesson plan formats to assist intermediate teachers in implementing Four Blocks are included.
